What will you be doing?

As a welding process specialist at Sif, you will be responsible for training and guiding welders and overseeing welding processes during production.

You will be the point of contact for welders regarding welding-related issues. You will identify and assist the welding bureau in analyzing trends in welding repairs and determining possible causes. You will perform new welding method qualifications (PQR). Participate in improvement teams. You will provide functional guidance to welders and oversee the delivered welding quality. Conducting machine audits.

As a welding process specialist, you will join a team that includes fellow welding process specialists, the welding coordinator, safety officials, customer inspectors, as well as colleagues from operations and maintenance.

Your responsibilities:

You contribute to the development of new welding methods with colleagues from the welding department. Ensure the correct use of welding procedures and deployment of qualified personnel on the shop floor. Conduct welding inspections and proactively identify maintenance or modification needs of welding machines. Take necessary responsibility for your work, quality, safety, and achieving goals.

Your background:

A (minimum) completed technical vocational education (mbo-3). Experience in welding, (functional) leadership of welders, or supervision and training of welders. IWP or IWS is an advantage. A good command of the English and Dutch language, both spoken and written. Do you have a valid VCA-VOL diploma? If not, you can obtain it through Sif. Basic knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
